“Mimi”

Janet Ann Migyanko, 71 of Washington, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021 after a short battle with cancer, with her loving family by her side.

She was born December 2, 1949 in Masontown, PA, a daughter of the late Andrew Sinko and Helen Sinko.

On October 2, 1971, she married Alexander J. Migyanko, who survives.  They would have been married 50 years this October. 

Janet graduated from Albert Gallatin High School, and California University with a BS and Masters in Education.  She began her teaching career at Albert Gallatin, Central Cambria, and she retired from the Trinity Area School District after 29 years.  After retiring, she enjoyed watching her grandchildren that were the love of her life.  She enjoyed spoiling them every chance she got.

She enjoyed traveling around the country with her husband.  Her favorite place to travel was Hawaii, and she was hoping to get back there one more time.  She was an avid reader who always dressed so beautifully no matter if she was going out to dinner or attending one of the grandchildren’s ball games.  She also enjoyed rides “to the pond”, where she loved to spend evenings relaxing with Alex and whoever else was enjoying it at that time.  If you saw her out and about she was probably shopping.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her children, Tamara (David) Johnson, Alexander “Jake” (Jennifer) Migyanko, Saundra (Chad) Deems, and Andrew (Alison) Migyanko, as well as her 5 beautiful grandchildren, Noah and Tyler Johnson, Ian Migyanko, and Landry and

Lowrie Migyanko.  Also surviving are brother-in-laws John (Carole) Migyanko,  Francis Pavlovich,  sister-in-laws, Theresa (Keil) Van Nice and Anita (Patrick) Hrutkay, and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-laws, Barbara Pavlovich and Catherine Bolen.

The family would like to thank the staff on the 8th-Northwest floor at Ruby Memorial Hospital for taking such good care of our Mimi during her stay, and a special thank you to her Case Manager, Brie, for getting her home in enough time to see her family.
