Joseph J. Balko Jr.
Joseph J. Balko Jr., 66 of Washington, PA, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, PA passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday-May 16, 2021. He was born November 24, 1954 in Ohio the son of the late Joseph J. and Catherine Franks Balko. Mr. Balko worked in the trucking industry for most of his life where he held various different positions. He was Christian by faith. Mr. Balko was a member and Past Master of Avalon Lodge No. 657 F. & A.M. and the Syria Shriners A.A.O.N.M.S. of Pittsburgh, PA. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching Steeler Games and watching his son and grandson play football. Mr. Balko also enjoyed going to county fairs and spending time with his family. He was a true family man and will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Surviving is his wife, Patricia A. McLaughlin of Washington; a son, Brett Carnahan of Monaca; a stepson, Sean (Caroline) McLaughlin of Burgettstown; a stepdaughter, Lori (Ron) Taylor of Lyma, Ohio; two brothers, Jimmy Gatewood of Duquesne and Mike Rose of Washington; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Balko was preceded in death by a brother, June.
Friends will be received on Friday-May 21, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Director, Susan Falvo Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director. Avalon Lodge No. 657 will hold a Masonic Funeral Service at 7:30 P.M. on Friday in the funeral home. A Christian Funeral Service will follow at 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
