Donald Frank Tennant, Sr.

On Tuesday, January 19, 2021 Donald F. Tennant Sr., 90, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

He was born February 7, 1930 in Ten Mile, Pennsylvania the only son to the late James Tennant and Florence Keebler-Reynolds Tennant.

Don was a 1948 Graduate of Trinity High School. He was employed at Hazel Atlas in Washington, PA and retired from McGraw-Edison as a Crane Operator with thirty years of service.

He was a member of the Ten Mile Softball Team of the Ten Mile Valley Softball League where he was a pitcher for several years. He was also a member of the Amity United Methodist Church.

Don’s greatest enjoyment came from family, gardening, and sports. He was always known to attend as many events as he could of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and talk about their achievements to everyone that he met. During the spring and summer, you could always find him tending to his garden. His lima bean poles could not be rivaled.  A true fan of sports of all kinds from professional to high school. He followed several teams and was always aware of their scores and stats from reading the Observer-Reporter cover to cover.

In his later years, he enjoyed his daily drives in Amity and Ten Mile where he was always sure to pass his family farm.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter and son, Diane T. Huffman and Husband Joseph A. Huffman, Jr., Donald F. Tennant, Jr. and wife Brenda B.
