Martha L. Barbarossa
Martha L. Barbarossa, 84, a lifelong resident of Washington, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday-June 2, 2018 in the Donnell House.
She was born December 12, 1933 in Washington, PA the daughter of the late Frank and Concetta Cancelmi Tracanna. Mrs. Barbarossa was the youngest of nine children.
She graduated from Washington High School where she lettered in girls basketball. Mrs. Barbarossa worked as a secretary for Guy Woodward's and as a secretary/librarian for J.F.K. School. She at one time was also employed at Langs.
Mrs. Barbarossa was a lifelong member of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Washington, PA. She was a devout Catholic who attended Mass and prayed the Rosary regularly. Mrs. Barbarossa was a member of the Christian Mothers and was Past President of the Immaculate Conception Friendship Club. She loved her faith and her family and enjoyed all of the family gatherings and celebrations. Mrs. Barbarossa was an avid Notre Dame, Pittsburgh Steeler and Pirate Fan. She loved spending time with her family and friends and having lively conversations over libations. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Joseph F. Barbarossa who died August 29, 2003.
Surviving are two children: a son; Jay (Sue) Barbarossa, a daughter; Adele (Leo) Trich, five wonderful grandchildren; Christian Trich, Brittney Trich, Courtney Trich (Chris) Carter, Katherine Barbarossa and Giovanni Barbarossa, two great-grandchildren; Owen and Hannah Carter, a brother; Frank Tracanna Jr., a sister-in-law; Norma Tracanna and many nieces and nephews whom she was very close to as well.
In addition to her father, mother and husband, Mrs. Barbarossa was preceded in death by two sisters; Norma Wilson and Zena Rossi and by two brothers; Clyde Tracanna and Fred Tracanna. Mrs. Barbarossa was also preceded in death by three siblings who died in infancy.
God has called upon Martha to join Him in heaven to resume her close relationships with her family again.
Friends will be received on Tuesday-June 5, 2018 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 9 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave. Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Director, Susan Falvo Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director. A prayer service will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday-June 6, 2018 in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 119 W. Chestnut St. Washington with the Rev. William P. Feeney and the Rev. Richard J. Wesoloski as Concelebrants. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
