Donald F. Puglisi

Donald F. Puglisi, 87 of Washington, formerly of Hatboro, Pa. died Saturday-November 17, 2018 in the Washington Hospital following a brief illness.  He was born September 3, 1931 in Donora, Pa. the son of the late Thomas and Mary Nemish Puglisi.  Mr. Puglisi was a 1949 graduate of Donora High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Washington and Jefferson College where he played quarterback on the football team.  He also received a Master’s Degree from Temple University and a Doctorate in Education from Lehigh University.  Mr. Puglisi served in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He was Roman Catholic by faith and was a member of the Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Meadowlands.  Mr. Puglisi worked as a counselor and administrator for Abington School District for over 30 years.  He enjoyed golfing and playing tennis in his younger years and gardening.  Most of all, Mr. Puglisi enjoyed spending precious time with his family.  He will be dearly missed.

Surviving is his loving wife; Frances M. “Frankie” Siba of Washington, three sons; Donald C. (Kim) Puglisi, Stephen W. (Zoe) Puglisi and Gregory T. (Christine) Puglisi, three daughters; Diane M. (Eric) Madsen, Susan A. Puglisi and Ann E. (Robert) Lefebvre, a step-son; Mark T. (Mary Lynn) Siba, a step-daughter; Kathleen A. Siba, twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

In addition to his father and mother, Mr. Puglisi was preceded in death by his first wife; Carolyn R. Racunas Puglisi, three brothers; Richard, Thomas and James Puglisi and a sister; Marianne Fountain.

Friends will be received on Friday-November 23, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. in the Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Meadowlands.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in the church with the Rev. Carmen D’Amico as celebrant.  Interment will be private.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, S.
