Charles A. “Chuck” Campagna Sr.

Charles A. “Chuck” Campagna Sr. 91, of Washington died Monday, August 14, 2017 unexpectedly in his home at Hawthorne Woods with his wife by his side. He was born May 31, 1926 in Canonsburg the son of the late Ignatius & Josephine Sincera Campagna. Mr. Campagna served during World War II in the United States Army from 1944 until 1946 receiving the Army of Occupation Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal & the World War II Victory Medal. He attended Canonsburg High School. After returning from the service Mr. Campagna was self employed as a TV repairman. He was employed by Jessop Steel until his retirement. Mr. Campagna was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church for the past 68 years. He was an avid Steeler & pirate fan also enjoying instrumental easy listening & Italian music. He enjoyed board games and many activities with his grandchildren & great grandchildren. He was definitely a family man always wanting to be involved. He was a member of the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175, the Jessop Club and the Alpine Club.

On June 19, 1949 he married Eleanor J. Foglia Campagna who survives. Also surviving are their children; daughters; Marie E. (Jim) Gouirand of Arlington Heights, Illinois, Joyce A. (Austin) Lee of Washington, son; Charles A. (Beth) Campagna Jr. of Lancaster, 6 grandchildren; Angela (Corey) Heidkamp of Arlington Heights, Illinois, Christina (Matt) King of York, Pa., Christopher Lee of Washington, Matthew Campagna of Lancaster, Pa., Jeffrey Campagna of Lancaster, Pa., & Peter Campagna of Lancaster, Pa., 4 great grandchildren; Jonathan King of York, Pa., Nathanael King of York, Pa., Marc Heidkamp of Arlington Heights, Illinois & Eleanor Heidkamp of Arlington Heights, Illinois, several nieces & nephews also survive.

Mr. Campagna was the last of his immediate family.

He was preceded in death by 4 siblings who had died in their younger years due to illness, 2 brothers; Samuel & Joseph Campagna, 2 sisters; Catherine Brincko & Josephine Campagna.

Friends will be received on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc. Wilson at E. Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. A prayer service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2017 in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, Washington. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum.
