George “Pappy” Dwayne Edwards, 74 of McKeesport formerly of Scenery Hill died on the Sabbath on Saturday-October 14, 2017 at 2:30 a.m. in the Washington Hospital following a brief illness.  He was born December 11, 1942 in Wheeling West Virginia the son of the late George and Esther Edwards.  Mr. Edwards worked as a bus driver for Head Start and was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.  He loved to play cards, gardening, enjoyed tinkering with things and loved to help people. 

On May 1, 1964 he married Thelma Sayre who survives.  Also surviving is one son; George Dwayne (Angela “Angel”) Edwards III of Scenery Hill, two daughters; Melissa L. Jefferson of McKeesport and Esther Shoemaker of Elizabeth, seven grandchildren; George Dwayne Edwards IV, Carrie Ann Edwards, Randy Allen Jefferson, John Travis Jefferson, Andrew Joseph Jefferson, John Shoemaker Jr. and Dean Shoemaker.  Several great-grandchildren also survive.

At the request of the deceased all services will be private.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave. Washington, S.
